Winemaking Home Page Site Search Engine

Search Site:

This is a simple search feature to search The Winemaking Home Page web site. The search engine cannot read your mind. It will search for what you input, so here are a few simple rules to assist you in making any search more productive.

If you are searching for a single word -- such as "persimmon" -- you need only type in the word. Please don't type in something as common as "wine" unless you simply want to look silly.

If you are searching for a phrase (two or more words) -- such as "potassium metabisulfite" -- you need to enclose the phrase in quotation marks ("enclosed phrase").

If a single word -- such as "apple" -- does not yeild the results you want, try searching again using the plural of the word (e.g. "apples").

If a two-word fruit -- such as "black currant" -- does not yield the results expected, try searching the phrase as one word (e.g. "blackcurrant"). The reverse is also applicable. "Crabapple" and "crab apple" will each return different results.

Use American standard spellings except when looking for a book or article title you know was published in a British Commonwealth location. Otherwise, use "flavor" instead of "flavour" and "sulfite" instead of "sulphite." If the word you entered did not yield results when you thought it should, check with an American standard dictionary to be sure you spelled it correctly and used the preferred American spelling of a word. I may have actually typed "flavour" and "sulphite" when quoting a person or publication (or when drinking too much of my own wine), but in my own focused writing I use "flavor" and "sulfite."

Finally, I am not a perfect speller or typist and an even worse proof-reader. You might search for a word properly and not find it because I misspelled or mistyped it. In such a case, I am the only person at fault and I apologize.
